MUSIC MITCH TAMBO
Mitch Tambo’s new single ‘Yugal Yulu-gi’ is as joy-inducing as the singer/songwriter’s colourful wardrobe! The self-penned tune, which means “song and dance”, is about letting go of the weight of the world and celebrating life with the people you love. “I wanted to share the freedom and healing that music and movement can bring,” Tambo muses. Also collaborating with world-renowned Aussie dance company Burn the Floor to create a brand-new dance production (which will premiere in July), Tambo certainly has plenty to celebrate!

It’s packed with the kind of inventive swearing that would make The Thick of It’s Malcolm Tucker blush and has more twists and turns than, well, Broadchurch. But it also deftly manages to explore themes of race and Australia’s relationship with First Nations people, and challenges the stereotypes of the crime drama genre. WHO caught up with the Kates over Zoom to hear how they taught themselves to write a thriller and discover who came up with the best lines.

We’d done and we were working on, and we wanted to do something that had a very different palate and
