Mel Harrison ‘I’M BREAKING BARRIERS’

Disability consultant and speaker Mel Harrison has used a wheelchair since she was 14 years old.

An arachnoid cyst on her lower spine combined with scoliosis and kyphosis meant 16 surgeries while she was still a teenager. The multiple back surgeries, combined with complications along the way, ultimately led to Mel using a wheelchair.

But despite her disabilities – she is also hearing impaired – Mel tells WHO that she refuses to be overwhelmed. Instead, she focuses on what she can do and says that
