GWSR appreciates the value of its diesel fleet

THE Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) has several interesting diesel events planned this season. These kicked off with a ‘double-up of diesel power’ on selected Sundays, starting on May 7. Future occasions are on September 3 with Class 47s Nos. 47105 and 47376 and Class 37s Nos. D6948 (37248) and 37215 on August 6. The sister locos will run double headed and top- and tailed throughout the day.

The GWSR has a mixed traction event on June 11, the ‘Swinging Sixties’, the theme of which for steam and diesel participants is BR green. Class 37 No. D6948 (37248) will be in operation along with a Class 117 DMU and steam loco No. 7903 Foremark Hall.
