or as long as I can remember, my family has been a household. All the big news stories, from the Beaconsfield mining disaster to the Lindt Café siege, were brought to us by the inimitable David ‘Kochie’ Koch. So it’s with sadness that we farewell Kochie this week after more than 20 years in the top job, as he goes on to enjoy a well-earned retirement with his lovely wife, Libby. Luckily for me, it’s not goodbye and more of a see you later, because he tells us on page 12 that he plans to spend more time at my beloved Port Adelaide Football Club.
