Ex-Fairbourne pair star at Perrygrove gala

SIÂN Project Group’s 2-4-2 Siân (Guest Engineering 18/1963) made a rare appearance away from its Kirklees Light Railway base to appear at Perrygrove Railway’s April 29-May 1 steam gala. Siân was joined by privately owned Bassett-Lowke 4-4-2 ‘Little Giant’ Count Louis. Both historic locos ran at the Fairbourne Railway in its 15in gauge days and were first time visitors to Perrygrove.

The ex-Fairbourne pair joined resident steam locos Exmoor 0-6-0T, Exmoor 0-6-2T, 2008-built Keef 2-6-2T and privately owned ‘Baldwin’ 0-4-0 tender loco (freshly overhauled and sporting to provide constant action with passenger services and demonstration freight operations.
