SIGNALLING CENTRES IN THE NORTH EAST: 2A LEEDS

By Richard Pulleyn

AS THE latest in the ‘Signalling Centres’ series, this is the first of two parts covering the complex history of railways and signalling around Leeds.

The city was served not only by the North Eastern Railway but also by the Midland, GNR/L&Y and LNWR companies. This volume focuses on the former NER line east of Garforth and the Leeds Northern route to Bramhope tunnel. It also includes a detailed history of Leeds City station from earliest times, through successive expansion schemes to the present day.

The author has drawn on extensive research over many years using primary sources
