As South Africa approaches higher and harsher levels of load shedding, fears of a national grid collapse are growing. This would not only bring life as we know it to a standstill but could lead to unrest and possibly looting.
There are, of course, two different schools of thought on the issue, one being that the gird will collapse, and the other being that it will not (see Opinion piece on this page).
