Cowes Week 2023

Cowes Week 2023 takes place 29 July to 4 August. This will be the 197th year of the renowned event, which once again promises seven days of world class regatta racing on the Solent complimented by a host of family activities and an unrivalled social scene onshore.

At the close of the ‘early bird’ entry period, entries were already up 20 per cent year on last year’s – so it looks like a bumper event could be in store.

With up to 500 boats expected and 40+ starts, organisers Cowes Week Ltd will once again be working hard to ensure there’s something for racers of all levels – from professional sailors to keen amateurs. New for this year is the Weekend Warriors Cup for the Club Cruiser Division, a miniseries taking place 29-31 July aimed at encouraging newcomers to the already-fast-growing cruiser-racer division. Regatta Director Laurence Mead explains: “Course length and style will be set to suit the boats, so it’s all about having fun rather than wearing out the crew, short tacking against the tide... It’s a great chance for people to come along, try the Cowes Week experience and hopefully come back and enjoy the full week’s experience next year.”
