I’m paying for renos... WITH CHOOK HATS!

Checking on my 10 chickens in the pen out the back, I fed them some pellets. It was June 2017 and, apart from babysitting my grandkids and spending time with my husband Jason, 56, my favourite pastimes were caring for my feathered friends and posting pictures of them on Instagram.

My grandchildren, Byron, now 15, Tristan 14, and Vincent, nine, loved running around with my chooks, a mix of silkies, Pekin bantams, and a Belgian d’Uccle.
