SPOILS FOR FORD AND SHANKS AFTER DISASTROUS OPENING LEG

James Ford and Neil Shanks overcame a difficult start to score maximum Protyre Asphalt Championship points on a tough Jim Clark Rally.

Ford and Shanks in their Citroen C3 Rally2 finished the eight stage closed-road event in the Scottish Borders with 16 seconds in hand over David Henderson and Chris Lees while Neil Roskell and Andrew Roughead wrapped up the Protyre podium as two Fiesta Rally2s chased the Citroen.
