THE WARMUP IS one of the most important parts of a ride. It allows you to check in with your horse and make sure his focus is on you and not on his surroundings. If you find your horse is too busy looking around at his surroundings and not paying attention to what you’re asking him to do, you need to check in with him and bring his attention back to you.
