In Florida, DeSantis Is the Real Mouse

It’s ironic that the face of Disney is the diminutive Mickey Mouse, and regrettably, today’s face of Florida is bullying Governor Ron DeSantis. Mickey is full of cheer and laughter; DeSantis is full of hate and snarls. Mickey Mouse has evolved over 90 years from a cartoon character known as mischievous and looking for trouble. Today’s Mickey can best be described as calm and kind, and is beloved by millions the world over for his warmth and acceptance.

There has been no such evolution with the caricature of DeSantis, who began his political career as an ignorant climate change denier and cofounder of the U.S. House’s racist Freedom
