Arizza Ann Nocum

With one Christian and one Muslim parent, Arizza Ann Nocum knows about the importance of overcoming prejudice. Her organisation Kris For Peace promotes peace and development through education and youth leadership, including scholarships, educational materials, training and disaster relief. It has also implemented Extremely Together Philippines, part of former United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan’s global anti-extremism movement, which has trained over 1,000 young Filipinos and provided grants to 20 youth organisations.
Kevin Yang
CO-FOUNDER, PROOF OF LEARN
Kevin Yang’s web3 education platform Proof of Learn allows its students to earn rewards for learning. It operates Metacrafters.io, a game that teaches blockchain coding skills. In 2022, the company raised $15 million in a funding round led by New Enterprise Associates and joined by Animoca Brands. Kevin previously helped to build the Philippines’ leading mobile fast-food delivery app for McDonald’s, and was co-founder and CEO of dockless e-scooter startup Wyng.

Filmmaker Kayla Abuda Galang has become known for her authentic portrayals of Philippine culture. Her coming-of-age short film When You Left Me On That Boulevard (2023) received the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and the Special Jury Award at the SXSW Film & TV Awards, a qualifying festival for Academy Awards.
