From Succession to House of the Dragon, all the best shows on Now TV

Source: Sky/HBO

From the Emmy-winning dark comedy series The White Lotus and epic fantasy drama Game of Thrones to the racy and chaotic teen drama Euphoria, NOW TV has a breadth of choices TV show lovers can dig into.

It might not be Netflix or Amazon Prime, but NOW TV still hits the mark with a huge selection, from gripping dramas and thrilling mysteries, to light-hearted comedies. And you can find them in the same place, for easy access, over on the ever-expanding Now streaming platform (which includes Sky Atlantic, the UK home of HBO).

So if you want to hit the sofa ready for a good old binge, here are some of our favourite shows – from golden oldies such as Sex And The City and Six Feet Under to newer dramas such as House of the Dragon.

Current favourites

Succession

This Shakespearean family drama about a Rupert Murdoch-type media tycoon Logan Roy (played brilliantly by Brian Cox) is a modern classic, and it’s completely gripping watching his children shamelessly jostle to usurp him. His unlikeable offspring are equally intriguing: Connor, the eldest and only child from Logan’s first marriage has never worked a day in his life; Kendall is addicted to many things, including power; Roman is immature and attention-seeking, though there’s trauma in his past; Shiv is a left-leaning political analyst whose sights are never truly contained to helping her candidate win the presidential election. Consistently explicit, expect four seasons of back-stabbing and powerplays against some truly gorgeous backdrops (they’re billionaires after all).

The White Lotus

If you are looking for a proper laugh – the merciless cackling kind – look no. Set in a luxury hotel (the first season’s is in idyllic Hawaii, the second is in one of Sicily’s most opulent spots) creator Mike White faultlessly anatomises relationships, wealth, racial politics, sex, family and loneliness – using a motley crew of overprivileged clientele, and the staff who look after them. The two seasons are stand-alone stories, with only one cast member (the fabulous – the series arguably resuscitated her career) making the crossover.
