MAUNDY COIN TRADITION CONTINUES

The English Maundy Thursday special coinage tradition dates from the time of King Charles II. The 2023 Royal Maundy service features coins of King Charles III for the first time. During 2022 ceremony Charles distributed Maundy money on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.
