Natural progression

Like a rocky outcrop, this handsome home on the NSW South Coast rises organically from its hilltop overlooking the Pacific. Architects Welsh + Major drew inspiration from iconic clifftop abode Casa Malaparte on the isle of Capri, where landscape and built form meld into one. “That 1930s classic seems to emerge from the earth, as if it’s always been there,” says principal Chris Major.
