INTERMISSION

When I was 15, in the late 80s, my favourite movies included First Blood, The Terminator, A Nightmare on Elm Street, RoboCop, The Fly, Hellraiser, Commando and Bloodsport. Sure, I watched the comedies and romances and dramas that Hollywood was churning out, but horror and action were my go-to genres. The more violent and grisly, the better.

Thankfully, my local cinema let and . And Craig, the bloke who owned my town’s video store, not only let me hire out stuff with the most lurid sleeves imaginable, but valued my custom enough to put aside each new Arnie and Sly movie when it came in.
