Directed by Adrian Grünberg,, but its big point of difference is an overt ecomessage: the title references the attacking megaladon of Mexican legend (we’re in Baja California) as well as, you guessed it, oil. Paying a visit with family in tow, Josh Lucas is the complacent US oilman who comes to realise it’s not too late to change our damaging ways. While the sentiments are laudable, the execution is heavy-handed - and there aren’t nearly enough thrills to keep proceedings afloat.
