Spring terrace

Learning objectives

■ Explore making thumbnail sketches
■ Experiment with colour harmony

As an artist I love how the spring sunshine starts to show everything at its best again, just as it did with a terrace of houses I spotted on a visit to a lovely Georgian town on the coast. With no time to sketch on the day, I took a series photographs instead. Back at home, rather than trying to replicate the terrace exactly as it was, I used some oi the front-on views I took of the individual houses as inspiration for my own terrace.

I hope you’ll enjoy following along with my version of Once you’ve followed this demonstration, search through your own photographs to reimagine and create your own unique row of houses.
