Opening up the dishwasher, I grabbed the mugs on the side and began stacking them up.
Me and my husband Neil, then 59, had been out in the garden all morning putting up a gazebo and we’d left the kitchen in a mess.
I had the day off work so we were doing odd jobs around the house.
After our morning of fixing up the gazebo, on a sunny day in July 2022, I’d sent him off to pick up a screwdriver on his way back from badminton. Only, he had come back empty handed.
‘Sorry love,’ he said, coming through the door. ‘I started to feel a bit funny so came straight back.’
