INFLUENCERS OF HENRY VIII

CARDINAL THOMAS WOLSEY

Thomas Wolsey rose through the ranks of the Catholic Church before becoming Henry VIII's most trusted advisor. In 1515 he was made Lord Chancellor of England and was gradually givenbut, already unpopular du to the vast wealth he had acquired, his influence dwindled when he was unsuccessful in his task. He was eventually arrested for treason in 1530 and died while on the way to face trial.
