FRIENDS FOREVER

Here’s a photo stitch that I’ve just finished and wanted to show you. This is my best friend Jessie. I rescued her in April 2007 when she was 10 months old. I took this photo of her not long after her 15th birthday, but very sadly Jessie died when she was 16 years old. Losing her has broken my heart. We shared so many wonderful and happy years together and life just isn’t the same without her. This cross stitch took me 11 months and I’ve enjoyed doing it. I’m going to get it framed and it will take pride of place in the memorial that I have for Jessie at home. Jessie will always be the bestest friend I could ever have wished for.Cheryl Ellis, via email

Hannah F: I’m truly sorry for your loss, Cheryl. Jessie sounds like she was a magnificent friend and it’s really fitting that you’ve chosen to remember her with stitches. This is the most perfect centrepiece for your memorial to her, and I can imagine the process of stitching such a detailed design was very therapeutic for you. It’s certainly a huge investment of your time and all your work has really paid off.

Meet The World of Cross Stitching team…

Sweet heart
