After you receive a gift, it’s good manners to say, “Thank you.”

It shows that you appreciate the person’s thoughtfulness. But how should you say it?

Communication comes in many forms: texts, phone calls, emails, direct messages on social media and more. But a handwritten note can get your message across unlike any other. It’s more personal, respectful and meaningful.

When you write a note, start with a salutation addressing the person’s name (like “Dear Mr. Smith” or “Dear Uncle Will”). Then directly thank them for the specific gift. Personalize the letter
