CMLL’s annual “Homenaje A Dos Leyendas” shows pay tribute to multiple Clegends of lucha libre. Each year, one of those leyendas is Salvador Lutteroth Gonzalez, who founded the company (then EMLL) in 1933. This year, the second honoree was Irma Gonzalez—a pioneering luchadora who began her career in 1955 and formally retired in 1996.

Gonzalez, now 86, was on hand for the festivities in Mexico City. And she even entered the ring to help present the Irma Gonzalez Cup, awarded to the winner of a 14-woman gauntlet match. In a field that included numerous former and current champion luchadoras,
