MIXED TRAFFIC DELIGHTS AT A HIGHLANDS EASTER GALA

Between April 7-10, the 10-mile line ran its most intensive timetable for many years, showing itself to be much more than a railway running a one-steam service that has been its recent main operating stance. It was an event of doubles and triples, with two rakes of freight and passenger stock hauled in rotation by two steam locomotives, with three diesel shunting locomotives and ex-main line diesel locomotives also getting in on the action, presenting plenty of opportunity for maximum mileage travelled and almost always something on the go.
