MORE political parties are being launched in the country as the 2024 general elections approach.
Mushrooming parties are a common occurrence in the run-up to a major election, such as the national and provincial elections planned for next year.
Three of the recent parties formed are Rise Mzansi, led by Songezo Zibi; Arise South Africa, led by Mpho Dagada; and Xiluva, led by Bongani Baloyi.
Political experts say even more parties could appear on the ballot before we go to vote, especially as opinion polls show that support among voters for the governing party, the ANC, has dropped to below 50%.
