Quiltmakers in the NSW country town of Wauchope were delighted to conduct their quilt show late last year as a community event that was held in multiple venues and along the High Street. The town’s main department store and many smaller outlets displayed quilts and quilted items in their windows, while other quilts were exhibited in community rooms and the local library, art gallery and Anglican church.
More than 40 quilts were entered for judging. Janelle Thomas took out Best in Show for appliqué quilt. The Highly Commended prizes were won by Elly Edgar and Iris Guild and Iris also took out the Viewers’ Choice award with another quilt.
