Pick Me Up!

MAGGIE’S MISSION

Carefully weighing out the dog biscuits, I looked down to see my Shih Tzu-Dachshund cross panting in anticipation.

‘Be patient Maggie,’ I smiled. ‘Your breakfast is coming!’

It was August 2021 and I was cracking on with my usual morning routine – feeding Maggie before taking her and her brother on their walk.

In our house, our four-legged friends always came first.

Me and my partner Jacob, 24, brought Maggie home three years ago as a little sister for our five-year-old white Maltese-Shih Tzu cross Sid, and she was an absolute joy from the start.

She loved running along the beach with her brother – she was so playful and they were always up to mischief – and they were both brilliant with our little girl Elodie.
