Dreaming with Maggie

Susan Cook and Wendy McNeil

After learning the secret of their Aboriginal heritage, twin artists Susan Cook and Wendy McNeil began expressing their culture through art. The vibrant patterns and imagery of their unique raised dot painting style, encompass thousands of years of cultural knowledge, specific to the stories, history, flora and fauna of the Iman people of Taroom.

Central to these stories is that of Maggie Dunn, an Iman woman and Susan and Wendy’s Great Grandmother. Her resilience and strength in the face of hardship is celebrated in this selection of visual narratives.
