Beer by barge in Essex

Young people from Essex spent their Easter holidays delivering beer in a Thames sailing barge without an engine to waterside inns and pubs in the county. The firkins of beer, from a brewery in Maldon, were loaded onto the barge in early April and sailed by the young people to establishments in Harwich, West Mersea, Tollesbury, Bradwell and Burnham on Crouch. The project was sponsored by Essex County Council as part of their Climate Change Challenge
