Give your cupboards some love

If your kitchen cabinets are looking tired and dated, there’s no need to rip them out. All you need is some multi-surface paint to breathe new life into them. Before you get out your paintbrush, remove any handles from the doors, lightly sand the surface of the cupboards to give the paint a key to adhere to, then wash the cupboards with sugar soap to remove any dust, dirt and grease. Apply two coats of paint, leaving it to dry thoroughly between coats. Finally, replace the handles. If you’re feeling adventurous, use painter’s tape to mask off sections of the doors to create striking geometric designs or stripes that can be painted with co-ordinating colours.
