THE Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway’s Kerr Stuart 0-4-2ST Brazil class Premier was the star attraction for Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway’s (WLLR) September 2-4 Steam Gala.
Premier returned to traffic in May (RM, July) following a decade out of action, its overhaul having included reverting its appearance to original Bowaters Paper Railway configuration and livery. Also in steam for the event were WLLR’s own Beyer, Peacock 0-6-0T No. 822 The Earl and U-class 0-6-2T No. 2 Zillertal, currently on extended hire from Austria’s Zillertalbahn.
