SAM Dixon started his railway career in 1997, working for Connex South Central in station management in the Brighton area. In 2002, he moved to Cheshire to join Virgin Trains as station manager at Crewe. During his time with Virgin, Sam worked as group station manager for the North West Region before becoming customer experience manager for the Manchester-London route, where he led a team of over 300 on-board and station staff.

In 2015, he joined Direct Rail Services as its control manager based in Carlisle, and since 2020 has been its senior
