Underperformance was MEC’s undoing, say insiders

‘BOOZE VOUCHERS’ RUBBISHED

FOLLOWING her sudden exit from the KwaZulu-Natal sports, arts and culture MEC position earlier this week, it remains unclear why Amanda Bani-Mapena left the position, with some within the party claiming she had underperformed in the role.

Bani-Mapena was given her marching orders by the ANC on Wednesday following a meeting of the ANC’s top five leadership on Tuesday.

Some party and government insiders told Sunday Tribune that Bani-Mapena’s sacking was solely based on her performance, despite other rumours suggesting that her hosting of the KZN Multi Genre Music Festival at the Durban ICC earlier this month
