MINIATURES OUT IN FORCE AT MASHAM

The Masham Steam Rally is a well-established event that has been on the calendar since 1965. As the name of the event suggests, steam is the main attraction although vintage commercials, tractors and cars also play their part in attracting visitors. Staying with the steam side of the show, as well as the full-sized steam engines, there is a healthy selection of miniatures on display too.

So concentrating on these, it is always great to come across some that was built from a Steam Traction World kit, it took three years to build, “It was completed in December last year,” David said, “It had its first boiler test in January.” Also getting a lot of attention was Phil Pettinger’s 4in Burrell Special Scenic showman’s road loco which was part kit-built and part modified by John Rex Model Engineers. “It is fitted with a crane on the back,” Phil said, “This is its first rally.”
