When decorated netball champion Bianca Chatfield officially farewelled the court in 2015, with 59 test caps for the Australian Diamonds during her 18-year career, after occasional stints as a sideline expert, she knew a side-step into commentating would be her next move.
“I would see how these incredible women would operate and that they get to still enjoy the game, but without having to step out onto the court themselves,” the magazine. “It became something I really looked forward to doing, if I could. My body was broken and I was very happy to retire. It was a luxury to have that choice in the end.”
