    Royal Society of Portrait Painters

    This year will be the 132nd annual exhibition by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP). A celebration of portrait painting in all , the RP show at the Mall Galleries, London includes 117 portraits selected from open submission alongside 113 portraits by RP members. The society's new president, Anthony Connolly, whose portrait of Isabella is shown above, comments; ‘Portrait painting is alive and kicking. It is skateboarding, surfing and untethered. Portraiture is made by thousands of painters about all kinds of people; subjects represent every morsel of contemporary society. It has never been more energised.'
