A salute to Cicely

Many Woman’s Weekly stories bring a smile to my face, but ‘Flower Fairies’ [14 February issue] topped them all. The Book of Flower Fairies was given to me when I was five (I am 90 now!) by a wonderful aunt who shared her love of flowers with me through Cicely Mary Barker’s beautiful pictures and poems. Anyone who doesn’t know Cicely’s books should get one right away – I still enjoy mine. Valerie Ruddle, Sevenoaks
