HER MAJESTY’S COURAGE

It’s a moment that has gone down in history – the Queen’s surprise appearance on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to mark the joyous end to her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Now it’s been revealed that the ailing monarch went to great lengths to give a moving “last salute” to thousands of well-wishers gathered below.

Her Majesty, who died three months later, initially hadn’t felt strong enough to attend the final day of jubilee events, according to royal writer. She’d already missed a thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral after suffering discomfort due to standing on the balcony and watching an air force fly-past the day before.
