Since this issue is focused on the intersection of whiskey and art, I couldn’t help but applaud Edinburgh, Scotland-based design agency Whisky Studio. The studio’s founder John Robertson creates a wide range of contemporary artwork inspired by all aspects of the whisky industry – products, people, and places – and contemporary artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. “I’m inspired to ‘positively provoke’ how we interpret and appreciate the world of whisky using our visual and mental senses,” Robertson says.

Robertson works with ‘digital-oil’ paintings of whisky bottles to abstract portraits and AI-generated bottle label concepts. If you peek at his Instagram page, you’ll be as instantly hooked as I was.
