US special forces naval warfare develops during the Second World War, beginning with Amphibious Scouts and Raiders. These further develop into Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDUs) – who fight on D-Day – and Underwater Demolition Teams (UDTs). The UDTs see extensive action in the Pacific War.
