“I’m happy at Red Star Belgrade and looking forward to playing in the Champions League”

Tell us about your childhood in Ghana and the beginnings of your football career.

I had a happy childhood. When I was little, I ran after the ball with my older brothers and with kids from our neighbourhood. Afterwards in school we played a lot of football and there were friendly matches against other schools. I was selected in the school team, scouts spotted me and I joined a football academy. But later when I saw that many players, for example Under-17 internationals, were picked from senior school teams, I decided to return to the school team. It was only when I was 17 that I started playing for Accra Lions, who were in the second division back then.
