TRUE BLUE

Morley-based SK Campers started in 2014 when Scott Keegan made the switch to camper conversions full time. “I’d worked in the building trade previously then when that trade went downhill, I decided to convert my work van into a camper,” said Scott. “I enjoyed doing it so decided to turn it into a trade.” Initially Scott offered conversions on a wide range of vans from his garage at home, but as popularity grew for VW Transporters he wisely decided to specialise. Subsequently, Scott moved into purpose-built premises in Leeds and with the help of Greg Arnold, who does the pop-tops, they now produce two full conversions a month with custom jobs fitted in between. Scott’s wife, Kerry, is also on board, serving as director, running the admin side of things and keeping social media ticking over.

To keep things simple and speed up the whole conversion process from a standard van to are 20 assorted colours to choose from. “We make the cupboards from 15mm lightweight ply,” Scott continues, “these are all CNC machined in-house and designed around the appliances you’d also expect to find inside, such as a hob, sink and fridge.”
