■ When Ocean released , the software house used the same artwork from the Spanish release, a glorious painting from the reader. The reaction, by press and Ocean, was to cover up the offending piece of the female anatomy using either a screenshot or artistically, with Newsfield’s Oliver Frey adding further metalwork to Queen Gremla’s chest. Naturally, the resultant fuss just led to more people seeking out the offending advert, and that wasn’t hard to do if you read . Having awarded Mega Game status, the anarchic Speccy magazine printed the advert in its original form and gave away an A5 poster for readers to proudly display on their bedroom walls. The final ironies to this 8-bit storm in a teacup? The image wasn’t even original, having already appeared on the cover of magazine, and there was far more of the female form on page three of many tabloid newspapers.
