The dust may have settled as the masses still fondly recall the memories but, behind the scenes, the positive spin-offs that have developed out of Formula E has laid the foundation for a very positive future for SA motorsport and F1 prospects in South Africa. The success of the event from a sustainability perspective brought with it a wealth of future opportunities – for motorsport, the motoring industry and local investment – as well as a damn good sense of fun for everyone. Green shoots for our country as we fight back against threats of greylisting and junk status. But peeling away the layers, what this means for Formula 1 efforts is nothing short of electrifying.
