DNA DISCOVERIES

Mention Crick and Watson, and co-workers Franklin and Wilkins follow swiftly on – as it is the publication of that paper in Nature 1953 and the scruffy sketch by Crick of the now ubiquitous helix, which are indelibly etched in our minds when it comes to the history of the DNA origin story.

To follow are some of the other milestone dates in the history of DNA, however, and mention of some of the other key players.

As our focus is clearly on putting the genealogy into anything genetic, then we’ll weave in some of the pioneers in the genetic genealogy world too, as they are vital, of course, in helping us all get more out of our DNA
