Woven Picot Stitch is a great way to add three-dimensional elements to your hoop art and beyond. The stitch is a technique often used in stumpwork, or raised embroidery. It lends a realistic look to design features, so it’s ideal for working flower petals and leaves, for example – or anything you want to stand out from the main part of your design. This stitch comes in three- and fivepronged variations. In this Coronation party design, we’ve used the three-pronged version to create realistic-looking celebration bunting (it will even flutter in the breeze if you blow on it!).
