£1.5m SOS appeal for urgent repairs to Stanway Viaduct

THE Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust has launched a £1.5 million appeal for urgent repairs to the 15-arch 656ft-long Stanway Viaduct.

The 15-arch Staffordshire blue brick-built structure, which came into use in 1904, has been suffering from the effects of water penetration for many decades.

The trust aims to address the structural problems through a two-phase project to install a new waterproof layer and repair brickwork subsequently damaged by water ingress.
