Sophie Wilde & Miranda Otto WE MADE MOVIE MAGIC

THE STARS REVEAL HOW THEY FORMED AN EVERLASTING BOND ON THE SET OF THE PORTABLE DOOR

If you were a fan of the Harry Potter franchise, then a new mystical movie has arrived for you to fall in love with. A London firm is using ancient magical practices when Paul Carpenter (Patrick Gibson) lands an internship with them and discovers their secret in the process. Based on a novel of the same name by Tom Holt and directed by award-winning Aussie director Jeffrey Walker, The Portable Door is one for all the family, filled with unique characters and fantastical fun.

WHO sat down with two of the film’s stars, Miranda Otto, who plays Countess Judy, and Sophie Wilde, who plays Sophie Pettingel, to chat about their time on the set of the magical film.

What was the vibe like on set?

OTTO: The vibe was so good.

WILDE: So much fun.

O: During COVID, we were shooting it and we were all on the Gold Coast. We all got there just before the lockdown in Sydney happened. Then we couldn’t leave. We hung out a lot and played a lot of games, and Jeffrey [Walker], the director, has a real sense of play and he got that going. A real awesome group of people.

So you stay in touch?

Both: Yeah!

W: We have a little group of us…

O: The Portable Door social club.

W: We all message each other, or if one of us sees one another we’ll take a little selfie and post it, and send it to each other.

O: Wish you were here!
