RED SQUIRRELS, WATER VOLES AND hedgehogs are some of our most iconic species, but all three are now sadly threatened – and they’re not alone. It’s estimated that 56 per cent of species in the UK declined between 1970 and 2013. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. The clock might be ticking but there’s still plenty we can do to help protect British wildlife – all around the country.
